Hi, I’m A. Allen Rowe. I have a Ph.D. in education. And I love to share thoughts about how to improve health. May you find this post useful.
The biggest eating day of the U.S. year is nearly upon us. My wish for you is that you may enjoy this day greatly without excess. What? Without excess? And still enjoy eating?! it is possible. Here are the key points of the game plan for victory:
- A Sanctified Appetite: I will control my cravings. My cravings will not control me.
- Thankfulness and Forgiveness: Forgiveness and thankfulness will be the heart of my game plan for Thanksgiving Day. This will be my most joyful and thankful Thanksgiving yet.
- Media Blitz: I will not let my mind be programmed by media messages that promote gluttony. Instead, my mindset will be one of temperance.
- Sip it All but Soda: I will sip, not gulp. I will not drink soda.
- How to Eat: I will savor my food. I will not gobble. The turkey will be the only gobbler at the table. I will take time to fully experience the appearance, smell, texture, and flavor of what I eat.
- Fundamentals: I will be mindful of the origin and handling of my food.
- Plan for Fairness and Moderation: A sit-down meal is better than a buffet.
A more complete explanation of this game plan awaits you in Always Eat to Win: Your Thanksgiving Game Day Guide to Victory.
May you enjoy the day! And if you want to connect, please leave a reply to this post.
